This policy explains what 4th & Swipe ("we", "us") collects when you play at 4thandswipe.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

WHAT WE COLLECT

• A guest ID. The first time you open the game, we create an anonymous guest account and store its sign-in in your browser's local storage. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number to play.
• Game activity. Your answers (right, wrong or timed out), how long each answer took, your scores, and when you played. We use this to run the game, the leaderboard and the "standout play", and to see which questions are too easy or too hard.
• Your leaderboard name. The name of up to 8 characters you enter after a game. It's shown publicly on the leaderboard, so don't use your full name or anything private.
• Messages you send us. If you use the contact form, we keep your message and any email address you choose to give so we can reply.
• Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting and service providers receive your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, and may keep this in their logs.

WHO PROVIDES OUR SERVICES

• Supabase stores game data and guest accounts.
• Vercel hosts the website.
• Google Fonts and jsDelivr deliver the fonts and code library the pages use.
• Vercel Web Analytics counts visits, pages viewed, referring sites, countries and device types. It doesn't use cookies, and we only see totals, not individual visitors.

We don't sell your personal information.

ADVERTISING

We may show ads to keep the game free. If we use Google AdSense, Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. To learn more, see how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

HOW LONG WE KEEP DATA

We keep game activity and leaderboard entries while the game is running, because past games make up the all-time leaderboard and question stats. Contact messages are kept until we've dealt with them.

YOUR CHOICES

• Clear your guest account by clearing this site's data in your browser. Your past games stay on the leaderboard but are no longer linked to your browser.
• Ask us to delete your data or remove a leaderboard name through the contact form. Include your leaderboard name and roughly when you played so we can find it.
• Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete your personal information. Contact us to make a request.

CHILDREN

4th & Swipe is meant for players aged 13 and older. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

CHANGES

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
